Brazil get a convincing win over Serbia in their first World Cup match. Richarlison got himself a beautiful place and might have scored the goal of the tournament.
The match started exactly as expected. The Brazilians took the ball and began to play their energizing football. And, of course, Neymar was in the spotlight. At first, Saša Lukić fought so hard on the flank against Neymar that he pulled off his shirt. And a couple of minutes later, Neymar almost scored with a direct kick from a corner.
With all the efforts of the Brazilians, it was clearly not enough. The Serbs, on the other hand, seemed to be happy with the role of the counterattacking team.
After a nondescript half of football, the Brazilians turned on again. In the 28th minute, Vinicius Jr almost scored, about whom the Serbian defenders managed to forget. Goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic saved his tea from a certain goal, jumping out of his goal in time. And yet, before the break, the Serbs managed to survive.
The second half also began with a mini performance by Neymar. The Brazil striker was late for the whistle, so he taped his hands, and put on the T-shirt already on the field. The referee blew his whistle, but it turned out that Neymar hadn't finished yet. For about half a minute, the Serbs rolled the ball while the star laced up his boots.
Until Neymar finished tying his laces, the Brazilians nearly scored. Goalkeeper Milinkovic-Savic set up his defender with an unsuccessful pass, but then corrected himself, preventing Rafinha from converting a one-on-one chance.
Toward the middle of the second half, it became clear that only a miracle would save Serbia. The Brazilians upped the pace and pinned the opponent to the their own half. In the 60th minute, Alex Sandro shot from a distance and hit the post, and two minutes later the goal came. Neymar burst into the penalty area, Vinicius Jr shot, and Richarlison finished it off from a rebound. Not the most beautiful goal, but what a celebration! The Brazilians were so carried away by dancing that the opponent had to wait.
And after 11 minutes, the greatest moment of the whole match happened. Vinicius Jr crossed the ball into the penalty area from the wing, Richarlison took a touch and pulled off a scissor kick! It’s even hard to imagine what was going on in the head of the Brazilian after he scored such a masterpiece. Definitely the best goal of this World Cup! The end of the match was quiet. The Brazilians were happy with everything, but the Serbs seemed to have resigned themselves to the fact that nothing will save them. But there is good news: there are two matches ahead in which you can rehabilitate.
